At The Eye Center of Central PA, our skilled team of board-certified ophthalmologists and talented optometrists and physician assistants proudly serve patients of all ages at 12 locations throughout Central Pennsylvania.
Each location features state-of-the-art technology and a caring team of doctors, technicians, and opticians to identify, manage, and treat a wide variety of eye conditions.
These conditions include cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal issues including tears and detachments, and common refractive errors such as nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism.

At The Eye Center of Central PA, our highly trained team of board-certified ophthalmologists and skilled optometrists treat patients of all ages throughout Central Pennsylvania.
With many years of combined experience, our eye doctors diagnose, treat, and manage a range of conditions and disorders, including glaucoma, cataracts, and retinal diseases.
Our clinic locations offer on-site optical centers where individuals can receive prescription sunglasses, eyeglasses, and contact lenses.
We also perform refractive procedures to enhance visual acuity (such as LASIK and PRK) at our Muncy location.

Board-certified ophthalmologist David Lightman has been providing eye health services locally since 1986 when he founded his first practice in the Susquehanna Valley.
Beyond being an integral part of our surgical team, Dr. Lightman often travels internationally to train ophthalmology residents in retinal surgery and offers eye care in underdeveloped countries.
He received his undergraduate and medical degrees at Princeton University and Tulane Medical School before moving on to his ophthalmology residency in Boston, MA at Tufts New England Medical Center.

Dr. Bechtel is a valued staff physician at The Eye Center of Central PA.
He has practiced optometry for over 40 years, first in private practices in Lewisburg, Mifflinburg, and Duncannon, PA, and now as part of our team.
Dr. Bechtel attended Susquehanna University and the Pennsylvania College of Optometry for his undergraduate studies where he earned his bachelor's degree in biology and his bachelor's degree in physiological optics, respectively.
He then continued his education at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry where he graduated with his doctor of optometry degree in 1976.
