InterMountain Eye Associates, P.C. was founded by ophthalmologist Steven Vale, M.D. in 1999, to provide comprehensive medical and surgical eye care to the residents of Northeastern Pennsylvania, including the Pocono Lakes Region, Susquehanna, Wyoming, Sullivan and Bradford Counties and northern Monroe County as well as cornea and external eye disease specialty services and eye surgery for Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, Pittston and Carbondale Pennsylvania.

Emergency care includes treatment for red eye, scratched corneas and removal of metal foreign bodies, as well as ocular trauma, corneal and scleral lacerations, ruptured globe repair, laser treatment of retinal tears and holes, emergent medical or surgical treatment for acute glaucoma attacks, evaluation and management of sports or recreational injuries, and automobile accidents involving the eyes and the orbits.
Dr. Vale is also the eye care provider of choice for over 38 summer camps in the Poconos and Endless Mountains of Pennsylvania.

Many PPO insurance plans we don't contract with have third party contractual relationships with one or more of the PPO insurance plans that we do have a provider relationship with.
This allows us to see their members in most circumstances.
If your insurance provider doesn't contract direct payment for services with InterMountain Eye Associates, you may be able to submit your receipt for services rendered to your plan for reimbursement from that insurance carrier.

Our first ophthalmology practice in Northeast Pennsylvania was in Honesdale, but soon moved to Carbondale, Pennsylvania, where Dr. Vale has practiced ophthalmology since August of 1999.
